Mental health is arguably one of the most important parts of a human life. Without taking care of your mental health, your physical body suffers as well as many other issues that come along with it. Living a better life starts with going on a mental health journey.

Brenda’s Journey:

Brenda is studying at the University of Kentucky and is a freshman. Making the switch from high school to college was very difficult for Brenda, as it is difficult for many kids making that transition. Her mental health started to deteriorate. She stopped calling her family, stopped hanging out with friends, and would spend her days going to class and laying in bed on social media. Her roommate Erica decided to step in a hold a little intervention for Brenda. Erica dragged her to the gym with her and completed a very difficult workout. Brenda complained the whole time, but afterwards she felt energized and like a spark appeared within her. Brenda started waking up at 6am before her classes everyday to hit the gym with Erica, started following a strong protein focused diet, and began journaling every morning and night. She now has a great routine and is much happier mentally than she was at the beginning of the semester.

Everyone has their own story and every story is unique. We all need to come together to form healthy habits that will get us to where we aspire to be in life mentally, spiritually, and physically. Finding the discipline to work on these habits consistently is the key to success.
